Rescue 995 - June Issue

June'e issue of scdf's Rescue 995 magazine is comming up soon. Since I went to EX Northstar VI a week ago for a coverage, I decided to use the shots I took to make the cover for the upcomming issue. This is actually the sample of how its going to look like. I heard from Sam that Mr. Lam saw this already and he is intrested to make it into the cover. Well, of course I would be happy as I would be getting 1 day off. But what im worried about is that this cover does not have any Civil Defence elements. And our commissioner might reject it. But putting all that aside, it is still a design I made. Use it or dont, its going into my portfolio. :)

FYI: The Chinook, the wave effect under the Chinook, the clouds and the Star Aquarius all came from different shots I took.

Short Films

29th May 2008 will be the dateline for a short film competition in Singapore. If reader out there do not realise or did not read my whole blog or things around it, you may not realise that im a short film enthusiast. So I gathered the gang to discuss about this the other day and ended up not sleeping.*(damn it, the next day was Exercise NorthStar VI)* But all efforts came to no waste as we talked about a story, proposal, budget and more shit like that. Then I realised, thinking about a good story that has no flaws is hard. We agreed not to make anything like "Thruth Hurts", "Grandma", "Love In Kulai" or "Reincarnation". Short to say, nothing mono, melo or dark. I wanted to overcome all my critiques, and create something flawless. And looking @ the schedule of me and the gang, its hard to meet the dateline. Im looking foward to the next comp available. I hope this time round, everything will be completed and ready to be submited.

Me In Korean Drama "Que Sera Sera"

OMG!! At Last!! I found It. In March 2007, I was working in scarlet hotel as a waiter and a Korean Drama was being shot. They come over to Scarlet Hotel and took about 5 days in Singapore to complete a whole episode. Since then, I never bothered to search for "ME" in the drama as I do not know which episode I am being portrayed in. Its actually not a big deal but I just find it cool to see myself on tv. And yeah, OMG!! *I was FAT!!*.. Jayliberator, officially was in the middle of the spotlight for about 4 seconds in Episode 9 of a Korean drama called "Que Sera Sera"

If not I have to call this picture "Officer Pendek". Muahahahahaha. I hope he does not see this blog to see this photo.

Caught In The Middle

While in the middle of my coverage, I saw this kid smacked in the middle of the street. Covering his face with a toy helmet, he made me confused. Was he camera shy? Or was he just bored? Or maybe he is just plain crazy.. hahahaha

Past & The Future

This evening I met a few friends of mine from Raffles Design Institute and had a long conversation about how technology has advance this past few years. Have you ever wondered about that?? A few years back, having a 32mb mp3 player was quite a fancy. And now what? Having a 1 GB player is a disgrace? This technology mumbo jumbo has brought us guys into a world of advancement where people take for granted. You ask a kid now research thing in the net and they find it hard. I just want to smack them in the head and say "LOOK KID! YOU ARE HAVING IT EASY! YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS FOR ME??"

As Singapore is a very busy country, you will witness many people crossing the street illegally or better known by us as,"jaywalking".

Streets here in Singapore are getting more and more busy. Its not helping as most of the street are narrow. Whats worst is that, parking are provided at the sides. Once cars are park on both sides of the road, it is practically impossible for other cars to move around. I hope more multi story carparks are provided especially in the city area. Parking is a major problem faced by shoppers in Singapore when they go to town.

Thin Me

The body works in a weird way. Some may favour their needs some may not. Once I was 105 Kg. Then When I enlisted into National Service & being placed in the fat squad, I worked my way up to loose as much weight as i could in 13 weeks. It was then a very successful attempt. 22kg lost in total. But then in 4-10 weeks after that, i started gaining back. No, im not back to where i was but still, i gained 10kg in total today. I did some research i i found out that, when your body losses weight drastically within a short period of time, it gains back as quick or even quicker when you stop exercising or you start eating a normal diet instead of eating really really little when you tried loosing your weight. When this picture was taken, I had lost 22kg. It was the time that i was so proud of myself. But to bad, that body lasted with me for only a month. Have to start losing again.

Liza

I just met a friend who ive not met in abit. Apparently ive known her since I was 13. WHOA! 7 bloody long years. We hanged @ downtown east & she blanja me dinner @ BK, OUH how nice of her since she knows im broke. Cmon man, pay day is not until the 12th. Hehe. Of courrse you guys may think its lame, but think about it, i was 13 back then and she was 21 (8 years diff)... she knew how much i wanted to go there so there you go. Where we were this evening was the same place where we had fun 7 years ago. How cute rite?? And here I go flattering myself again.

Poster

So one day I was bored in the office. I was looking into a bunch of photos I took from our Huge 12TB library and I decided to create a poster. I give my respects to the fire fighters that work day and night to save and rescue the people of Singapore. Well you see, im not a firefighter my self. But Ive been to dozens of casses and ive watched them with my own eye. Especially our URSAR team well known as our DART team, they are the best. If one day I have enough photos of them, Ill probably create another poster.

The View From My Room
